Leitbec reached into his pocket slowly, withdrawing his acolyte seal.
He flopped down on the chair,

Justicar Jonas seems surprised for a moment, then puts her serious face again.
She quickly picks the acolyte rosette and examinesit closely under the yellowish ceiling light. She quicly rises from her chair and goes to the exit door.
An hour passes until she gets back. She enters the room slowly, and she throws the Inquisition rosette on the table in front of Leitbec. She picks the chair, puts it facing the table, and sits down again, then motions the Arbites in the room to go away and close the door, which he does.

Ash smiled when the girl returned.
"Now I think "assassin" was a rude term for someone serving the justice of the Great Emperor. You may wish that you won't be the next target of his holy wrath..." He paused, savouring a bit of his drink, and then continue, feeling that it would be useless to go to much into confrontation with the girl : "However I have to admit that you have a good talent for protecting your Master, and if he would have been our target, we may have had many problem dealing with you. But be sure that our goal is far from your concern... or not that far actually, if you are still concern with the Empire peace."
He paused once again, and finaly added: "Now, we may talk about serious matter, would we?."

Jonas turns to look Ash directly in the eye with a stare that could freeze a well of promethium.
She lets the question hang in the air for some seconds, then she rises from her chair and continues, strolling back and forth inside the room. She reminds you of a caged feline, trying to assess her possibilities to escape from there.

Ash looked at Cassiopea with some amusement, but he kept his face still to be sure he looked serious. She seems a hot tempered woman, but at least she seems loyal, he thought.
"Then forgive my rudness, ma'am. It is my role and my nature to doubt of everyone, but given the passion you put in your job, I cannot believe you would take part in any of the trouble we are investigating at. And just to be clear: the Ecclesiarch is not my friend, and I'm not fond of his hobby of burning people. Actually, I consider him as suspect as anyone else, except you and your men of course, now that I heard you. Our role is to stop hypothetic rebels, but I will certainly not help the Ecclesiarch to put his fat ass on the Governor's chair. Does it reassure you?"

Justicar Jonas seems relieved, and can't help but hint an amusement smile at Ash's honest bluntness.

Leitbec is irritated he has lost his chance at the ball. The Justicar obviously seem willing to help, but he cant trust her yet, best learn as much as he can and get out.

Jonas scowls when she hears Leitbec talk about the "degrees of guilty".
She uses her right hand to part the venetian blinds on one of the walls, and she peeks through the glass behind it into the arbites offices.
Then she turns swiftly and snaps her right hand fingers.
She sits again, letting her shoulders sink a little bit, like they carried the weight of the whole world on top of them.

Governor Caligula may have a point, whom seems to gain the most, if the imperial control is lost but they still have the population working? How about this Merchant we saw at the ball? whats his story?

Red's voice comes across the inquisitor earbuds.
"While we were on walkabout, we managed to get ourselves into a firefight and make a new friend. I'm fine, but Titus and the new friend both got hit, might need some medical attention. Don't suppose that you could arrange that on your end? And as long as you are at it, see if the medic you track down could do some looking into the brain of a captive we're bringing along. He isn't right in the head, gone all feral. Might have something to do with the rebellion, maybe not. Either way, we're coming up."

Shortly after Red's call, someone else calls Justicar Jonas. She gives explicit instructions to bring "everyone and everything" in, and stop by the doctor first.

The Radpanzer enters the precinct by the emergency door. Two medicae and three nurses are waiting for Titus, Red and Bazl there, and one doctor and two nurses take them to the hospital wing inside the precinct. The other doctor takes care of the dead bodies, and the nurse checks on the prisoner and supervises his transfer to the isolation cell. The three notice a quiet figure, watching all the process through one of the windows on the second floor of the building: The doctor patches your wounds quite well, and orders all of you to come back for rest and extended care after you've spoken with "the boss". One arbitrator escorts you all to the canteen in the second floor, where you reunite with Leitbec and Ash, and also meet with the lady that was observing you from the window.

"Pleased to meet you, ma'am," Titus returns. "To be honest, I was hoping to keep this incident under the radar from even you, since I have no idea yet whom I can trust. There are many things about this case so far that don't make sense." He shrugs, and slowly eases himself down into a nearby chair. He winces as he does so, keeping his right leg locked straight. "Still, what's done is done, and I appreciate the help."
"Turning to matters of the investigation, however, I couldn't help but notice that our detainees had one or two curious items--most notably an injector with a compound I didn't recognize. Do you have any word on that? I'm guessing it had something to do with their feral behavior, and I'm very interested to learn more.
"Additionally, and this one worries me the more...whoever these men were, they were looking for us specifically, and knew where to find us. Red and I talked to very few people on our way down. Someone is already keeping tabs on us." He glowered in thought, cataloging in his mind the faces of people who saw Red and him leave. "And considering the shock mauls, I'm not even sure if they want us alive or dead."
(Titus will also use his remaining fate point to heal 1d5 wounds to bump him up to light wounds. He is currently at 7, with a toughness bonus of 3.)

Bazl heaves a sigh from her medical cot, eying her wounds balefully. Her whining, "Just a tiny scratch, really..." hadn't convinced the medics that she could leave any time soon. Something about her injuries needing at least 3 and a half weeks to heal. She snorted. Crazy! Her hands already itched to be fighting. She eyed her roommates. "So. Erm. I know Red, and Tin-man here." She jabbed a thumb at them. "But who're you?" She noticed their clothing was a bit...dressier than the two she'd fought with. "I'm Baz... -Er, you can just call me Mohawk," she amended herself, with a quick grin at Red. "Kinda found myself fighting alongside these two for a bit of hive street mayhem. Fights like that, as said by the Ma'am here, are kinda a rare thing around here." Unlike the Justicar, who'd had a grim expression when she spoke of the situation, Bazl had a bit of glee that she failed to entirely subdue.
"Anyhoo, Red, care to arm wrestle to pass the time? With my good arm, I mean. Not the broken one. Obviously." She knew he'd beat her easily, or let her win (HA) but it was so darn BORING in a medic ward. Maybe one of the others would wrestle? She glanced at Tin man. Or maybe she could make darts or hand a ball hoop or ride a gurney or something. Maybe she'd even get kicked out early.

Leitbec eyed the girl calling herself Mowhawk, how very typical for lower castes to name themselves wothout reference to their family or lineage. Although they really cant be faulted, they probabaly have no idea. However a native would be useful,if her records are clean.
He went on to describe what the Justicar has shared. At the end he turned to the Justicar.

Bazl sighed. Snooty stuck up type, she gathered pretty fast. And asking for a background check on her, right in front of her face was clearly an intentional insult to her character. Snooty, AND rude. Scum she may be, but at least capable of some manners. "I work as a civ for the Imperial Guard. Feel free to ask me questions if you have doubts. As for the 'name' Mohawk, this guy Red tagged me with it. And frankly, having fought with him, I'm honored." She tipped her head in a brief nod at Red. "I'm not from this particular hive, but I'm familiar with hive life. And considering my assistance- which I voluntarily gave- perhaps a slightly better welcome would be warranted." She forced herself to smile pleasantly at Leitbec and tried to hide her nerves. Scum yes, but she had her pride and she'd held her own in that fight back there. Nearly lost it, too. She tilted her chin up a fraction of an inch and shifted closer to Red and Tin Man. She hoped she'd be allowed to work with them... instead of going back to face punishment for sneaking off to hive ground for sight seeing.

Red let loose one of his characteristic big smiles when he was escorted to the canteen, and has been stuffing his face ever since. He has attracted a few stares, in part because of his overly large appetite, and in part as he doesn't really seem to get the difference between condiments and main course, eating everything equally. When Bazl strikes him up for some friendly arm wrestling, he has already finished off at least 3 full trays of food, and is in the middle of upending a bottle of spicy mustard and squirting it directly down his throat. He smacks his lips appreciatively as he empties the bottle, and sits back, satisfied for the moment.
"I tell ya, I've been hungry all day, and there's nothing like a good fight to stoke a man's appetite. Soldier knows to eat what he can, when he can. Never know when your next meal will be. Food here is better than I expected, got some kick to it. Yeah, Mohawk, I'm thinkin we'd best take it easy on your hand there, but I bet we could go do some target shooting out back. Emperor knows my pistol work is crap, and it looks like you handle a gun just fine, maybe could give me some pointers. Then I can show you some bladework, and we can swap war stories."
When Leitbec comes in all stiff and proper, Red grins, then lets out a cough when he catches wind of Leitbec's heavily applied perfumes. "Don't have a nickname for this smelly bastard, haven't been in a fight with him yet, and the shared bloodshed is something of a a prerequisite." Red smiles a conciliatory grin at Leitbec. "Don't worry, I'm sure it will come up." Red looks around the room. "He's nice enough folks from what I've seen, I'm sure we'll all hit it off sooner or later." Red looks around the room for Ash, and when he doesn't see him, his hands drift towards his knife, his eyes narrowing. "Somewhere around here you'll see the fourth member of our little posse, distrustworthy little bastard. First words out of his mouth were a promise to betray and murder us if given the chance." Red ponders for a moment, then takes his hand off his knife. "Of course, I reckon that if a man was really serious about betraying and murdering his squadmates, he might not just announce it to them straight up front like that. So maybe there's a bit of honesty there, or maybe he's just crazy. Either way, jury's out on him. You'll recognize him by the couple brace of blades he wears, and the warts that cover his face and hands."
Introductions done, Red turns to Justicar Jonas. "Evening Ma'am, thanks for the chow! Nice place you've got here. I was talking to one of your men before, Jimmy I think he said his name was, big bastard. I was telling Jimmy I don't think I've ever seen a Guard battalion half so well supplied as your arbites. That armor is mighty fine. What's a guy got to do to get a set of that?"
Red is earnest, but completely without tact, oblivious to the fact that he is talking to the head Justicar of an entire system as if she were a line soldier he was bumping into on the way to the privy. Then Red seems to remember that he hasn't introduced himself yet. His oversized hands are sticky with the remains of the food he's been shoveling in his face. He looks around for something to wipe them on, but seeing nothing, satisfies himself by wiping them on a cleaner spot of his blood splattered shirt. Then he etends his massive, ugly hand out for a shake.
"I'm Red. Lance Corporal with Catachan Regiment XVIII of the Imperial Guard, out on loan to 'you know who'." Red gives a wink. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Ash walked slowly to the canteen, still carrying his cup of coffee. When he catched the sight of the unknown girl on his way, Ash waited a moment to enter the room. He prefered to listen the conversation from a dark corridor, to get a first idea of how this new girl should be considered. But when he heard Red talking about him, he decided to make an entrance.
"Well well, I didn't expected that much compliments from you, friend. But I'm still glad to see you survived your little walk down the hive." He grinned at his companions, then turned to the girl : "I'm Ash, and not a bloody beast like may thinl. What Red meant, when talking about my friendly behavior, is that I prefer to keep an eye on my back, especially when I don't know people. But who doesn't? At least I'm not ashamed to say it." He winked at the girl, and then added, turning to the Justicar: "Anyway, you seemed to had a lot of fun together. Ball was boring, and we got interrupted by a nice Justicar who do her job quite well. She's a bit hot-tempered, but at least she gave us good coffee." He emptied his last drop of coffee and then help himself with some food.

Justicar Jonas gives Bazl a stare of incredulity.
She begins pacing around the cantina, stopping randomly to look through the windows facing the precinct building's patio, where most vehicles are parked.
Jonas is going faster and faster around the room, like a really pissed off feline. Leitbec and Ash notice that it's a habit she seems to have. In the middle of a rant, she seems to be interrupted by a communication on her earpiece, and stops.
She turns to look at you. Her pupils are dilated and her left eyelid twitches a little bit. She is clenching both her fists, and grinding her teeth.

"We somehow got down to the planet surface 'undetected,' " notes Titus as he stands up to accompany the Justicar. "The PDF wasn't online at that point, but I always look for breaches in authority before happenstance." He smiled grimly. "It's thanks in great deal to my past, and probably a reason I got 'chosen' for the Inquisition."

After you reach the morgue, in the fifth basement of the upper hive precinct building, a short, stocky man greets you.
He grabs the leader's amputated arm, the one that hold the laser pistol, still wrapped in the clothes the man wore, some of them have been stuck to the body because of the blood that emanated from the wounds.
He offers the arm around, so all of you can feel what he says. Justicar Jones does, and nods. The doctor proceeds with his exposition, vividly demonstrating everything he says.
The doctor walks to the big autopsy table, the body there, resting under the sheet. He grabs the sheet with both hands and lifts the part that covers one of the arms.
He grabs the articulated ceiling lamp and pulls it closer to the body, to illuminate the areas.
He tries to cut another part of the skin. He manages to do, so, but the small knife in his hand has problems to cut in controlled cuts. The extra force needed takes away some of the precision he'd need.
He goes to the side that has the head on it, and lifts the sheet. Approximately the top half of his skull has been removed with a handsaw.
On one side of the lab, a machine pings and begins printing a list of letters, percentages, and codes. The final sheet is a bar graphic. The doc looks at every page twice, then looks at everything once again.
He turns to Justicar Jonas, his hand holding the DNA analysis shaking like a leaf.
