said Leitbec to himself. Standing in front of the mirror. He can't help but admire the figure he cut standing there. Although the clothing the good brother fetched was not exactly elegant as most of his other Official Clothing. it is still sufficiently fine to pass at the hive. The reflective clothing seemed to shimmer as he walked, reflecting the surrounding lights into muted shades and shadows. He placed his hand cannon, though not ornate enough, into a holster in his coat, nobody turned up to these functions without weapon, regardless of whether they can use the said weapon on their person.
Dabbing a little perfume onto his hands and neck, he stepped out of the corridor, searching for Ash and their host.

Brother Oberon guides Leitbec and Ash out of the ecclesiarchy building. The upper hive has ample spaces, with well-illuminated bridges that appear busy without being too crowded. Almost no one pays attention to Brother Oberon or Leitbec, but many gasp when they notice the menacing presence of Ash shadowing the pair. Many pedestrians carry big parchment lanterns with prayers to the Holy Emperor, Saint Sebastian Thor and written personal wishes. Noticing the looks from some of the people in the street, Brother Oberon turns to Leitbec first, then to Ash: The station is just an elevated platform with 3 steps around it. The UHM is a kind of tram that runs through the main avenues of the upper hive, then reaches the main spire and climbs the hive levels in a gentle spiral slope. The vehicles are the colour of lead, with carbon black and brass accents, each wagon about 15 meters long, and they are all connected and articulated. They seem to be unmanned, since no driving servitor can be spotted. The tram stops at the station, and small green lights turn on just over the access doors. People enter and exit the wagon until a beeping sound warns them the doors are about to close. Once you're inside, you notice a floating skull servitor roaming around every wagon in the convoy. When the skull approaches, Brother Oberon lifts his left arm and shows his wrist to the skull, that runs a scan with a laser. | *BEEEEP*
*BEEEEEEEEEEP*
|
The UHM enters a tunnel, and for a couple of minutes, the wagon goes darker, and the slope a little steeper. The sound of the conversations inside the tram gets muffled by the noise of the train wheels against the rails. The first thing you notice is that, at this height, there is snow and ice on top of the buildings, and the temperature is near the freezing point. The tram stops, and everyone gets out. Brother Oberon signals you to follow. You walk towards the massive building, and notice that most people are gathered around it, but few seem to enter. There's a high security deployment around it, and Leitbec recognizes the uniforms and decorations as elite-level Adeptus Arbites. Before the gargantuan door, a flight of stairs with a dark red carpet coming out. Eight Arbites flank the carpet on each side, and two more next to the door. An oddly-dressed man, in a pearly white dress with red frills and a deep orange curly wig stands next to the door, with an ebony staff engraved and with very elaborate gold inlays.

Leitbec was surprised Rouk will not be attending the ball, just as well, he would prefer it that way. Smiling at Brother Oberon, he enquires further on the civil unrest.
As he leaves the building, he decided to notify Titus and Red to the whereabout of their host. He reached his hand to his ears to access the microbead.

As Leitbec walks behind Brother Oberon as he introduces the Uppder hive city. The hive is livly indeed with the festival of Sebastian Thor. For a city at war, the upper hivers certainly is not chowing it. He reached out the same as Brother Thor to try a grab a Lantern, to read what the lower hivers hopes and dreams are for the future.

Noticing Ash's apparent obvious contrast to the other crownd and the fear the locals are feeling from his demeanour. he decided its fine for now as a trader having a meanacing bodyguard is fine. however Ash may need to blend in more once they get to the Harvest Hall.
The skull servitor allowed them access, and Leitbec is in his element. Civilization at last!1-100

Well, Leitbec couldn't really get a hold of one of the lanterns, but he can read some of the lanterns passing by. Some with for wealth, others for better living conditions for their families, some of them just wish for the rebellion to end so they can get back in touch with their relatives in the other hives...
When the three of you get near the door, the arbites begin to follow your moves. They seem to be ready to jump into action, their shock mauls ready to strike down any unwanted or troublesome guest. The man with the staff and the pearly dress steps in front of you, hits the floor twice with the staff bottom, and clears his throat: | He discreetly nods to the arbites on each side of the door. |

Before the surprised man argues about the need of a bodyguard (which he's about to do), Brother Oberon says:

| He sighs loudly and looks at Leitbec Hamsha and Ash, and passes a small data-slate with a stylus to brother Oberon, that writes your names, signs under it, and puts his wrist on top of a sensor. The slate bleeps, and a small LED light turns on on the upper right corner of the slate.

Leitbec eyes the man in front of him, uncertain if he is but a servant or someone of import. regardless, he is determined he should mainatain his cover.
He laughed in a good natured manner. looking around to get a layout of the ballroom.

Ash followed Leitbec and Brother Oberon all the way without a word, but he couldn't help but smile any time they refered at his "sense of fashion".
In the mean time, he kept his attention focussed on the surrounding crowd, especially during the transportation and during the talk with the man with the staff.

No one catched his attention, except weird noble folks, but he didn't think they might be dangerous, for now.
When they entered the ball room, he whispered to Leitbec : "Everyything's clear for now, but things can change during the night. If my sense of fashion is too offensive for these lovely people, I may find a dark corner to observe the crowd from afar later. But I won't lose sight of you, so if anything trouble you, just pretend to yawn. I will come right away."
Saying so, he examined the room to find a place that could fit a spying position, if possible above the crowd.

(Ash doesn't notices anything besides the guards on each side and the obvius things I've already mentioned) | The porter laughs at Leitbec's comment about not being famous if you're not a target for assassination With a smile and looking down at his pearly jacket, he caresses the iridiscent cloth with his right hand, his left holding the staff. He glances nervously at the arbites in both sides, that look slightly pissed and have changed their usual stance for another one, ready to start a fight if needed be. Their hands rest on their shock mauls' handles.
Seeing that the Arbites resume their habitual positions, the man calms down, and his smile becomes wider.
He approaches Leitbec and whispers in his ear:
He stands back again, and steps to one side of the door.

The Harvest Ball room is built in a neo-imperial baroque style, and right now it's quite full of people. There's a live string quartet on the far side, and the people are mingling in small groups. When you step down the stairs, another person dressed in the same pearly uniform announces you with a loud baritone voice while he hits the flor thrice with his staff:

Leitbec nodded to Ash, agreeing with his suggestion. When the servant with the drinks walked by, he picked up a glass of amber coloured liquid. He took a sip and is pleased with the sweet flavour merging into a acidic smokey texture. the drink does put him in a good mood as he mingles with the upper class of Hive Sebastian.
looking around the room, he made idle conversations with a lovely young women, a daughter of a minor house dealing with farming tools. She seemed excited to meet someone from offworld and prattle on regarding whatever is the latest gossip. His previous experience dealing with other Nobles and his fathers insistence on proper Imperial etiquette may come in handy afterall.

Leitbec leaned in close to whisper a compliment to the lovely noble lady
The lady gasped at his audacity, slapped him and stormed off to the safety of her friends. Leitbec rubbed his cheek, for a dainty lady she certainly packs quiet a swing. Others noticed his predicament and giggles. Rather than making his retreat in shame, he smiled and jokes.
Time to get back to work, remembering the people the man at the door mentioned, the Governor and the Arbite, the the Landlord, the Merchant and the Soldier. He decided to make his way to his host, the Governor to make his introduction.

Straightening his tunic, Leitbec walked toward the Governor. He took his time walking toward the end of the ball, where the Governor sat in a high seat overseeing the entire hall. Taking note of the governors demeanour and behaviour, while making chit chat mingling the hall. he took time also scrutinizing the head Arbitor standing beside the Governor.
He walked up proudly, and bowed to the Governor, speaking in High Gothic
Going back to Low Gothic
Leitbec will continue to speak with the Governor and the Head Arbitor, Scrutinizing both on thier response and if they are possibiliy suspecious fI012VHW1-100 against fel of 33, with trained scrutiny, from what I read this is for talking to others and getting more from what they tell me1-100

ROLL REQUIRED: Since Leitbec is lying to the Senator, he should roll Deceive(fel). He should also roll Charm(fel), since he's doing it in a graceful manner. Both rolls have a +20, since he's using high gothic, is dressed for the part, and being a noble, he has the confidence to pull it off.
The Governor straights up, seeing Leitbec's approach. However, after listening to his introduction, he seems to ease up a little. He is a medium-built man, wearing really ellaborate clothes. His jacket has bands of pearly white iridiscent cloth, and ebony leather entwined. He has a pure white neckerchief and a big black hat with white frills. The wig, in comparison, seems quite simple. When Leitbec comes near, he smells an intense cinnamon aroma, almost pungent.
He smiles and does a gesture, a casual flourish, with his right hand, inviting Leitbec to talk some more.

Justicar Cassiopea Jonas brings her left hand to her ear, slightly touching the microbead inside, and Leitbec can see her subvocalizing, as many times he had in the Arbites. A micro-bead paired to a neck microphone. Even without emitting any sound, just making your vocal cords, tongue and lips go through the motions, it picked the sound right, even in the most noisy environment. She was probably hiding the neck microphone under the navy blue turtleneck of the Arbites uniform.
She turns to look at Leitbec and she takes two steps towards him, putting her right hand on her bolt pistol's butt, and stopping right in between the Governor and Leitbec. The Governor sticks his head out to peek at him.

Ash is watching the exchange between Leitbec, the governor and the Justicar, and barely notices two Arbitrators coming from behind him. Both of them carry shock mauls with full carapace armour, and one of them carries a big riot shield. The other one puts one hand into his shoulder, and says: |
Then, in a quieter voice, he says:

Leitbec held his halds up, showing no weapons was in his hands. He held the stare of the Justicator, eyes suddenly becoming harsher than usual, more like his arbitor training.

Cassiopea Jonas clearly unbuttons the leather strap holding her Bolter Pistol in the holster.
Cassiopea approaches Leitbec, looking at him straight in the eye and baring her white teeth.

Ash observed Leitbec try to talk with young lady, and forced himself to stay serious when Leitbec got slapped.
Then he saw him approached the Governor, and given his expression on his face, Ash started to get worried. "Please Leitbec, don't say anything stupid...", he thinked. But as he was supposed to be a bodyguard, Ash just stayed were he was and kept looking around, until he noticed the guard girl approching Leitbrec. Instinctively, he got ready to throw on of the knives hidden in his clothes.... but then he felt the firm hand of the Arbitrator on his shoulder.
A quick look at his opponents and he knew that a fight would be useless, so he decided to obey and followed them to the exit, he added to the Arbitrator : "I have to be sure my Master will follow. I would not like something happens to him.". Before he reached the exit, he look back to check if Leitbec is coming too.

Two Arbitrators and Cassiopea Jonas accompany Leitbec and Ash to the exit, where a heavy Adeptus Arbites transport is already waiting: They motion for them to climb to the back with the two arbitrators, and Justicar Jonas goes with the driver. After a 15 minute drive, the transport enters the precinct's parking lot. In the entrance, they use a weapon sensor and ask politely for Leitbec and Ash to leave all their weapons there. They are taken to a room with comfortable chairs and a table in between. They offer each of them a glass of hot brewed caffeine, and tell them that soon, Justicar Jonas will come to talk to them. The big arbitrator who talked to Ash stays in the room for five more minutes, and then Justicar Jonas enters and takes a seat.

Motioning to Leitbec with an open hand:
She does a long sigh and leans against the back of her chair. She looks at the ceiling for a couple of seconds, then back at Leitbec first, and then to Ash. She slaps on the table, then extends her arm, pointing at him.
She stands up, lifts the chair by the backrest and turns it away from the table. Then she sits facing the table, legs apart, arms resting on the backrest, and lowers her head a little but keeps looking at Leitbec and Ash.
