Welcome to this chronicle, guys, (gals?) and other unspeakable horrors!
As the main thread name indicates, we'll be playing a Dark Heresy chronicle. Dark Heresy characters begin slightly underpowered compared to other WH40K role-playing characters, specially to the Space Marines from Deathwatch, but, you know, they're Space Marines, a.k.a. Battle Bros.
/serious mode on:
The characters in Dark Heresy are individuals who have been recruited to serve the Imperial Inquisition, perhaps the most feared and secretive organization inside the imperium of man. The characters start as Acolytes, an inquisitor's lowest helpers. They usually don't report directly to an inquisitor, but an interrogator or another person of the inquisitor's retinue who has the authority to manage such affairs.
To those who aren't familiar with the Imperial Inquisition, I'll recommend reading some of Dan Abnett's Inquisition novels (Eisenhorn or Ravenor trilogies). I'd prefer you not to read too much in the Dark Heresy book if you have access to it, since it explains too much about the inquisition factions (which your characters won't be aware of). You're welcome to read about the character creation and the different careers you can try. All of them are available.
Now, standard character creation rules make up for a totally random character creation. You might choose that, if you don't have any idea what to pick, or if you feel to leave it entirely to chance. The other option, though, is that you voluntarily choose an origin and an available career path for that origin. The table events that might exist in your home world or origin of choice will be rolled randomly, though.
What do you have to do in order to be able to choose your point of origin? Well, you have to write a compelling story for that character, explaining how he was born, grew up, and was recruited by an anonymous individual into the inquisition (what made him valuable to an inquisitor?).
We'll be using the advanced character generation rules, as for The Inquisitor's Handbook, page 8, and the Dark Heresy Core Rulebook, 1st Edition.

You're welcome to get them for this game (since I can not share my physical copies). Read the sections for character creation, but don't delve too deep into the inquisition's particulars (and stay clear of the storyteller's section, please).

This are the creation steps:
- (If you're not registered yet) Register to the forum and wait for approval. Pick a straightforward username we can identify you with, later we can add aliases so you can post in or out of character indistinctly.
- Go to the Character creation thread and (if you do not have it yet) create a character thread. You can name it "my character" and we will edit that later to put the name on it.
- Choose if you pick the narrative creation option or not. If you do, write the history of your character, and wait for my input before we proceed to point 5.
- Roll for Origin. To insert a dice roll, you only have to click into the small dice icon you have in the right of the menu, and then write the dice you're rolling into the popup window. It will write the code for you. It's better to leave a single row for the rolls. Wait for my input about it (the origin might require other rolls or choices)
- Roll for characteristics. Since they're 9 characteristics, I'm letting you roll 2D10 10 times, and scrap the lowest roll. Then you need to assign each roll to one characteristic, which will receive a bonus according to the origin of the character.
- Roll for Career Path. Wait for my input because some choices might be required. The specific origins for sector Calixis are not available.
- Note down finishing touches, spend initial experience points.
- Write down everything into a PDF character sheet, save it as [name of the character]_V01.pdf and attach it to your post. You're done.
