(I'm assuming that microbeads fit in one's ear, and that we all have separate quarters.)
Titus spent his time catching up on his rituals from the dropship. The Machine Spirit would overlook a hasty address of maintenance when under fire; but when the situation warranted, more complete rituals were required. After all, "To break with ritual is to break with faith." Titus laid out his soiled equipment in private (insecure about showing his fallible flesh to others) and washed them in the thrice-cleansed fashion he had been taught.
Receiving Leitbac's instructions, he plugged his data slate into the closest jack and scoured what information he could find. He also made sure to find what he could about the previous three rebellions--political turmoils, social unrest, industrial collapse, or any other obvious factors. He then saved what maps he could find of the upper and lower hive structures underneath them. It would not do to walk into the den of the lion unprepared.
Lastly, Titus re-assembled his gear, strapped the encrypted communicator directly to his backpack, and shouldered all his equipment (his cyber mantle helping to bear the weight). His group still had no idea whom to trust, and literally anyone might be in his quarter while he was away. He would make sure they had nothing to find or steal, if they did.
Lastly, he pressed on his microbead. "Red, you there? Ready to get busy?"

Red has been getting hungry ever since the dropship landing, and when he was shown to his quarters he decided to do something about it. He had noticed some indiginous water fowl living out in the lake. They were larger than some of the free range jungle fowl he was used to from home, but probably just as poisonous. They had long serpent like necks, sharp orange beaks, and a pure white coloration that probably allowed them to sneak up on animals with a limited color spectrum. They paddled around the lake alone or in pairs, and after observing them for a bit, he decided to try to capture them with a snare, just to stay out of range of their probably razor sharp teeth. They seemed to be attracted to bread crumbs, so he baited his trap with some crumbs he found under a bench. Trap set and...... success! When Titus called, Red had taken his tightly bound but still alive and squirming lunch back to his room, and was trying to figure out a way to cook the ill tempered beast. There didnt seem to be a firepit or cooking stove in his room, so he was eyeing a ceremonial bowl as a pit, and going through the rooms furniture looking for burnabe wood. He had just about settled on a baroque looking armchair, and was just pulling his knife to make kindling of it when he heard a voice in his ear. He started, at first suspecting daemonic influence, before remembering his earbud. He looked at the trussed bird longingly, sighed, then answered. Yeah, I’m ready. Tell me where to meet you, and I’ll make my way down now.As Red was leaving the room, he was suddenly concerned that his prize might escape before he came back. He looked around the room, then took the bird and stuffed it, squacking and protesting into a handy wardrobe only partially filled with fine clothes, then pushed a heavy chair in front of the door and stepped back. Satisfied that he would have a snaxk when he returned, he clapped his hands and strode towards the door.

In the brief moments he had to look for the requested information, Titus managed to get the public maps for the upper and lower hive, except for the restricted levels of the upper hive and all of the underhive, that seems to be uncharted, or at least, ignored in the public maps that the city government lets the common citizens to access.
About the rebellions, Titus has all the public domain information from the news agencies, that seems to confirm what Interrogator De Cisneros told you in the initial briefing. Of course, the internal information in the rebel hives only covers until control was seized by the rebels. The rebel hives were all taken in less than a week, which seems to indicate that the rebels, supported by the PDF and/or local arbites, met with marginal (if any) resistance. The unrest in those hives didn't seem different than the normal unrest in a common hive. The planet's economy was prosperous, and everything seemed to go on as usual.
Titus spends about 1 hour to get all this information from the local network.Note: further access and in-deep investigation will require at least a tech-use and Logic rolls and more time, depending on how deep you want to goWhen Titus and Red meet in the corridor, they notice that brother Oberon, Leitbec and Ash have already departed a while ago, while Red was busy messing with the swan and Titus was researching the networks. A young novice approaches, walking with a fast pace. He seems nervous, but when he sees you he slows down, and bows his head and joins his palms to greet you. | When he speaks, he does so in a thin voicen, and stutters slightly He smiles awkwardly. |

Titus was still scratching his head to himself when the novice approached. Despite their individual complexities, large groups of people acted with remarkably-predictable behavior. And the populations in the three fallen hives had done anything but. For three entire hives to fall, in a single week, with minimal resistance...long chains of events would have had to already be in place. And there was nothing in the public reports that suggested this. "That suggests two possibilities, off the top of my head," Titus thought to himself. "Mass mind control, or someone is censoring these files." When the novice arrived to offer his help, Titus smiled pleasantly, then remembered that his respirator hid most of his expressions. He guessed that the novice was a more "simple" person who'd found gainful employment with the clergy. "Yes, and thank you for your assistance. My companion here requires slightly more mundane clothes. Perhaps a tunic, or a drab cloak."Once Red had thrown an old but serviceable cloak over his shoulders, Titus used the maps on his data slate to lead them downwards. "Where we're going, Red, you'll need to blend in. Keep your knife and your gun in easy reach; but the first thing to learn about living in a hive is: avoid trouble in the first place. It's the best way to stay alive."Together, the two of them took a labyrinth of lifts and stairs until the full expanse of the upper hive presented itself beneath them. Standing on the edge of a metal railing overlooking the jumbled expanse, Titus pointed at the sea of people beneath them.
"Here's a good example of the average market of a hive, where you can purchase almost anything you want, as long as it's in poor quality. If you're hungry, I hope you like soy and protein by-product; it's very hard to grow 'real' plants or cattles inside a hive." Titus noticed Red's muscles stiffen, and his jaws clench unconsciously. "Don't let it all get to you, Red. You can actually be safer in the throngs of people than on the outside, if you keep your wits about you."Which leads us to our second tip. Don't watch the guns, or knives, or brass knuckles. Watch the people. Most of them will telegraph their intentions long before they act on them. I suspect it's much the same for you and the jungles you're used to--instead of watching for predators, you watch for signs of them. Smells that are just a little bit off, places that are just a little bit too quiet. Here, take these two over here, for example."
Titus pointed out two men who were loitering just to the side of one of the main thoroughfares. Though they were dressed like any other market-goer and seemed engaged in simple conversation, they didn't meet each others' eyes. Instead, they scanned the throng of people around them, their gazes lingering just ever so slightly on those with fancier clothes or more trendy fashions. Then, apparently on some unspoken signal, they stepped in behind a particular gentleman who was departing with goods under his arm. "Common criminals, working their trade. They'll follow him until an opportunity arises. If one doesn't, they'll simply keep walking. But just observing their body postures tipped us off."In the next few minutes, Titus pointed out a courier, bustling through the crowds single-mindedly with his arms folded across his chest; a bouncer to a hidden bar, standing imposingly; and a fresh tourist who was taking in new sights with a wide-eyed fish gaze. Titus didn't give him long before he was mugged. "Just remember, watch the people, and you'll be a step ahead. And just like you're always watching someone, someone will always be watching you. Which leads me to my next tip."At this point, Titus turned around and pointed to a railing thirty feet above them, where three men stood talking idly and looking nowhere in particular. Upon noticing Titus gesturing at them, they frowned and moved away. "Don't forget to look up," Titus finished.

After all that time inside the cramped ships, it sure felt well to take a stroll in a civilized place, thought Bazl. Colonel Mortz ordered all the civilian personnel and camp followers to stay in the ships until the rebellion was supressed, but staying in orbit was for void-born and vocational spacers.
So when the chance arose to sneak in a supply shuttle going to St. sebastian hive, she took it at once. Things on board were hot, everyone was cranky, and that loan shark claiming an alleged gambling debt didn't improve things. The descent to the planet was shaky, and Bazl had to struggle to keep his breakfast inside.
All the trouble she went through seemed unimportant when she got to put her feet in solid ground again. Concrete, in this case. She quickly put distance between the landing pad and herself, venturing deeper in the hive spires, trying to melt into the crowd, and trying to observe the local mannerisms in case she had to pretend to be a local.
The hive dialect was really different but understandable of one paid enough attention. She didn't quite get all the farming - related references and metaphors, but in context they kind of made sense, she guessed.
Casually, she approached this cubicle complex and spotted a neighbour who had just finished hanging his laundry on the Commons balcony rail. She casually walked by, grabbing a still wet yellow-orange poncho, and throwing it over her shoulders. That would conceal most of her offworlder clothing. In order to blend in a little better, she bumped against a ventilation grate and got some dust and soot on it. Now it kind of looked like a local worker, she thought.
She went back to the main hub of the level and picked a good observation post. After half an hour of soaking the rhythm of this particular hive, she saw a pair of walkers that looked as out of place as she had looked a while ago. One of them was a tech - priest and definitely a hiver, but from the colour of his robe, not from this one. The other one was big and muscular, and he seemed very uncomfortable surrounded by so many people. Either he was an offworlder or a farmer visiting a give for the first time. The tech-priest made it worse pointing around at the people and buildings like they were in a blasted tourist trip. What the priest didn't seem to notice were the four hooded men following them. They were hunters, Bazl thought. They were stalking the pair to either rob or kill them. Should she warn the foreigners and ask for a reward or wait for the confrontation and try to get the spoils of the combat?
Gotta love the hives, Bazl thought. There's always a chance for profit.
ROLL REQUIRED: Red and Titus should roll awareness (per) to see if they notice something.

Titus didn't really catch Leitbec's subtle hints in his last communication. Being accustomed more to straight-talking, the hidden message basically went over his head. "All right, fine," he grumbled back over the microbead. Then, to Red, "We're all the way out exploring the hive, and our friend Hemsha is still worried we'll embarrass him in front of the ecclesiarch."

Red listens carefully to Titus' pointers, soaking in the sounds and sights of the city. He understands the metaphor of the urban jungle, but it still doesn't sit right with him. In the jungle, it's man against the environment and you can count on your squadmates having your back if things go south. After all, you are watching theirs, and if you don't stick together then you are all screwed. Red hasn't been dealing well with the change of pace in the inquisition, where, if Ash is any measure, it's every man for himself and you have to watch your back constantly, even against people who are supposed to be in your fire team.
The hive life is that problem, multiplied a hundred fold. Anyone here could be the jungle equivalent of a black pit viper, lying in wait, hoping to catch you unawares and try to stop your heart with a foul poison. Red watches the faces of the people he meets intently, trying to see what evil lurks in their hearts, but the blank dead stares he gets back only sets him more on edge. He remembers his time on Pitt, as part of that endless, protracted campaign against mutant revolutionaries. The ambushes, the poisoning, the attrition and the simple soul crushing pointlessness of it all. He lost friends there, sometimes to insurgents who looked as friendly and helpful as anyone.
Red scans every shadow, eyeballs every passer by, remembers to look up, and keeps his hands constantly near his weapon. He knows he is not a predator in this plasteel jungle, more like a wild grox than a drakebat, but he plans to be just as ornery and tough as any wild grox back home, and to be a costly target to take down.
[Red is trained in Awareness, and his Perception is a 30. So that 40 is a failure, unless there is a +10 for good roleplay]

[Red is a little overwhelmed by the amount of people and the crazy activity in the hive, so let's say the roll failed. The roleplaying should be done BEFORE the roll to be effective]Titus and Red | Titus and Red are taking a shortcut to the lower levels of the hive, and they enter a part of this level that has less people walking around. The cubicle complexes on both sides of the road are really dense, and most have bars in the windows, along with rags and tattered clothes to cover the interior of the habitats. Red immediately feels more comfortable with less people around, but his innate survival instinct tells him there's a menace nearby. He doesn't know where, though... this environment is as alien to him as the Catachan Jungle would be for Titus.
Small corridors fork left and right, and there's a small amount of light coming from above. The main passage where Titus and Red are walking is about 4 meters wide, but piles of trashbags and debris are against the walls on both sides. For a moment, Titus wonders if he read the map well.
ROLL REQUIRED: Awareness(per), Titus with the basic awareness value, Red with a +10 for being so edgy.
If you succeed:
ROLL REQUIRED: Initiative (1D10 + Agility bonus). Agility bonus is the tens value of your Agility score.
If you don't succeeded in the Awareness roll, you'll be surprised the first round. | Bazl | Bazl saw how those two foreigners took a side passage, probably they had a map and were trying to take a shortcut, but this area didn't seem like the best area to deviate from the main communication arteries. The four hooded stalkers tailing the pair followed them into the passage... something was going to happen, and soon.

Despite Titus's long-winded introduction to "hive life," the St. Sebastian hive was not his hive. Many rules were the same; others he'd have to learn along the way (possibly painfully).

Suddenly, in this almost deserted alley, Red's instincts kick in again. Three... no, four hooded people are following him and Titus, trying to look casual, but Red knows that way of walking: they're predators stalking their prey. Red himself walked like that to approach wild groxes without being perceived as a threat. And there was something about them... their movements looked syncopated, though. There was definitely something abhuman about them.
And then, a quick, small flash of colour behind those stalkers: someone was, in turn, following them. But whose side was that other stalker on?
The four hooded men produced weapons from under their cloaks. Two wore shock mauls, like the ones the Arbites use. They did decent damage, plus sent an electrical charge to stun the victims. Another one wore a laspistol, Imperial Standard Pattern, and the last one had a pump-action shotgun. They meant business.

Bazl is stalking the stalkers, so she could choose to surprise them and take a free action against them. Or she can wait. Then, Red saw it coming, so it's his turn. Then it's "the hoods" turn. When attacking, roll for attack and damage. If the attack hits, we'll have the damage rolled already. If not, we ignore the roll. Each of you can do one full action, or two half-actions, and a certain number of minor actions depending on what they are:

At this moment Titus was completely lost in his study of his data slate. While the map certainly didn't indicate this path was less frequented, he was getting an increasing suspicion that things were not all as they seemed.
"I'm missing something here...what am I missing..."
Sadly, Titus did not see or hear the scuffle beginning behind him until it was too late.

Bazl shifts at her post, weighing the odds of the fight. She could join the stalkers and easily overtake the two newcomers. But the stalkers were just as likely to turn on her as well and take her (albeitly meager, but hard-earned) amount of money. She eyed the two foreigners. The tall tan one with the edginess that kept watching all around him with an air of wariness had the poise of a veteran. She noted his hand twitch near his weapon, and noted there were probably other weapons on his person. The other person with gray hair seemed more focused at the moment on some bit of tech; but walked with the measured stride of someone with confidence. She rolled her eyes; must be some mighty interesting tech to keep someone like that from watching his surroundings more carefully.
She narrowed her eyes and looked back at the stalkers. She didn't recognize them, and they moved somewhat oddly. Obviously they were able to fight but likely only picked fights they could easily win. Possibly overconfident of their abilities. Sometimes a surprise was enough to make stalkers like them turn tail. And sometimes that made them fight harder. She reached for her gun with a grin. Bazl was used to surprising people. And, to be honest, herself as well. She crouched for a moment, and tried to pinpoint the leader of the 4 stalkers, looking for any hand signals, eye contact with the others, and signs of control before choosing her target. Then, with a deep breath, she slipped quietly into a closer position. She dug her feet into the concrete and braced herself for action. She'd let them make the first move- she'd not be blamed for starting a fight, but she'd damn well jump in as soon as one started. Bazl was not one to miss a fight. Pasting a feral grin on her face, she pulled her autogun around and focused on her target.

Red has been high strung for what seems like forever, with his shoulders slowly inching up more and more with each passing hour, and his jaw clenching tighter and tighter with each new affront and confusion. But as he sees the stalkers come up behind him, as he sees them draw weapons and move in for a kill, suddenly he's calm and at ease, with all the stress of the past days draining away in a moment, and not a care in the world. His back to the attackers, Red's shoulders come down, the tension goes out of his face, and he starts cracking a wide smile, which slowly changes to a low chuckle. His gigantic hands flex and crack, releasing the safety catch on his largest knife, called a Devil's Claw by the jungle fighters of Catachan. He draws his blade in a swift motion and turns, turning the draw into a swinging chop aimed at the larger of the two shock maul armed thugs. As he swings, his chuckle develops into a massive laugh and a battle cry bursts forth from behind grinning teeth.

Anxious to get into combat, Red swings too wildly, and misses the attack by a mile.
Bazl is certain that the man with the laspistol is the highest in rank, since it's the only one that doesn't look at his mates before moving and acting. They're the ones looking at him instead.

Bazl watches the stalkers brandish their weapons, and witnesses the tan veteran wild swing and admirable war shout, Bazl doesn't hold back any longer. 'Ha,' she thinks to herself, '4 against 2, hardly fair is it? But they have their attention on the two foreigners, and their backs to me, so let's even things out a bit, shall we?" Her battle roar lacks the volume and power of the veteran, but is no less fierce as she opens fire on her attempted target and hopeful 'leader' of the small group of stalkers. She pulls the trigger and sends a silent hope that she doesn't mess this up- heroic she is not, but daring she is.

The man, caught completely unaware of Bazl's attack, does a loud gutural scream, and will turn around to face her. He loses his attack action this turn. Wrapping it up:
The hooded man #1 (Laspistol) is facing Bazl, and he suffered 4 wounds (7 minus his toughness bonus of 3, he has no armor save for the normal clothing).
The hooded man #2 (pump-action shotgun) is also facing Bazl and he aimed this round.
The hooded man #3 (shock maul) attacked Red, getting him in the right leg but doing no damage at all (8 damage -4 toughness -4 armour) Since it doesn't score damage, Red doesn't need to check to see if he's stunned or not.
The hooded man #4 (shock maul) attacked Titus, also getting him in the right leg, and scoring 7 points of damage (11 damage -3 toughness -1 armour). Being hit with a shock weapon, he has to do a toughness test, with a +10 bonus for each point of armour in that location. That's a 40% chance not to be stunned (30 toughness +10 for 1 armour) If he succeeds, he'll be damaged but not stunned. If he fails, He'll be stunned for 3 rounds (half the damage he suffered, in rounds): v7gUpdfv1d100
Having passed the surprise round, Titus rolls initiative (1D10+3): 1d10+31d100·1d10+3

Red takes the shock maul on his armor, thanking the Emperor for his holy gift of shock absorbent polymers as he feels the current run to ground before it has a chance to fry his brain. He watches Titus take the shock maul to the body with a grimace, expecting him to go down. But the grimace turns to a grin as he sees Titus stagger, but keep his feet. Tough one, that. Just behind it looks like someone is laying down heavy fire into two more of their assailants. There will be time for thanks later, but for now, Red has his own problems to deal with.
Focusing his attention back on his own foe, Red lines up his shot a bit more carefully this time, then lets swing with another massive chop.

Suddenly the last piece clicked in Titus's mind. These were public maps; everyone had access to them...including people who set up ambushes.
His realization was only confirmed when he felt a sickening crunch as a shock-maul slammed into his leg. His knee ground painfully, but he felt the current be absorbed by his mantle before it could stun him.
"A maul, eh," Titus thought to himself. "Big, powerful...and horrible in grapple range." Titus then spun in place, put his left hand up across his assailant's neck, and pushed him backwards as hard as he could.

As he sought to keep too close for the other to use his maul, Titus used his free right hand to draw his laspistol. His las rifle was still strung across his back, and it wouldn't be as useful in this crowded of a situation.1d100

Seeing her first shot hit, Bazl lets out another roar. "Forgot to watch yer own backs!" she snarls. "That first shot was a warning, you can leave now, or pick up the pieces later!" She flips the setting on her gun to full round. "Of course, we can make an example of one of you first...or all of you, if you prefer." She's well aware that while two stalkers are focused on her, that'll give the two foreigners a better chance to both fight back or hit the ones not looking. Or better yet, attract the attention of all four of them to give the foreigners enough to time launch their own offensive. She just hopes she can survive the beating that's coming to her. Ah, well. She'd go down swinging and it wouldn't be the first time she'd joined a fight with lopsided odds. She pulls the trigger with a grunt, trying to cover the leader with a spray of bullets from her gun. Hopefully, if she could get the leader down, the other would loose their guts and go.

OK, let's resolve this: 1) Bazl fires in Full Auto (6 shots for the autopistol), she gets a +30 (max modifier under regular circumstances), so that's 3 degrees of success, since she scored a 35 running against 65. 3 degrees of success means she scores a total of 1 + 3 shots (exactly one for each degree of success). The location is decided by reading the to-hit roll backwards and checking the table in page 194 of the book: 53, that's a body shot. Instead of rolling for the additional hits, we check the table "Multiple Hits" in page 190, that gives us: 1st shot (Body) 97weJV3C1d10+22nd shot (Body) 1d10+23rd shot (Arm - we'll say left again) 1d10+24th shot (Head) 1d10+22) Red misses his swing, although this time it comes closer. 3) Titus turns to face his attacker, tries to push him back (and fails), but draws his laspistol. He's still in melee, but next turn he can attack as normal. 1d10+2·1d10+2·1d10+2·1d10+2

Ahem... Bazl shots repeatedly into the hooded man, making two big entry holes in his chest. His ribs and internal organs from the upper torso exit through the platter-sized oriffice in his back, pulverizing his spine and shoulder blades. The third shot rips what was left of his left arm from the body, which falls to the floor. Finally, the fourth shot makes the head explode, splattering brains and blood all around.
With the leader dead, the hooded man with the pump-action shotgun next to it, that has witnessed all the exchange, rolls willpower to see if he flees. He does it with a +20 bonus, because reasons, for a total of 50%:

Okay, so now, the hoods' actions:
The hooded man #1 (Laspistol) has exploded. The few remnants of his corpse twich spasmodically on the floor. His scarce belongings rattle against the concrete.
The hooded man #2 (pump-action shotgun), decided to avenge his leader, shots his shotgun at Bazl with a +30 for point-blank range, for a total of 55 (since it's a scatter weapon, it scores another impact for every two degrees of success):

The hooded man #3 (shock maul) Attacks Red again, against WS 32:
To hit, 1d100, and in case he scores, 1d10+3
The hooded man #4 (shock maul) grabs the shock maul with both hands and observes Titus with hungry eyes, like he was a piñata. (He is doing a Full-action Aim, which means he'd have a +20 in his next attack)

Follow-up rolls:
The hooded man #1 (Laspistol) is dead and won't bother anyone anymore.
The hooded man #2 (pump-action shotgun) hits Bazl with his shotgun shot. 3 degrees of success means she gets 4 impacts due to the scattered blast.
First impact on the left leg, it's 1D10+4(-3 for Bazl's toughness) 3jlYbbu61d10+1
Second impact on the same leg, same damage 1d10+1
Third impact on the body, 1D10+4-3-2 (for toughness and armour) 1d10-1
Fourth impact on the left arm, 1D10+4-3 1d10+1
The hooded man #3 (shock maul) missed miserably, and accidentally drops the shock maul to Red's feet, effectively disarming himself.
The hooded man #4 (shock maul) nefariously aims for Titus' head and it's preparing an all-out attack.1d10+1·1d10+1·1d10-1·1d10+1
